About the author

With more than 18 years of clinical experience, Silvia Álava is a doctor in clinical and health psychology, university professor, lecturer, science communicator and writer.

She combines her activity as director of the children's area of the Álava Reyes Psychology Center with teaching Master's degrees and university specialization courses, such as the Master's Degree in General Health Psychology at the Alfonso Décimo el Sabio University (UAX); the Master's degree in teacher training from the Rey Juan Carlos University and the Master's in Child and Adolescent Psychology from the Autonomous University of Madrid and the ISPCS (European Institute of Applied Psychology and Clinical Psychology), as well as the dissemination of psychology in various media, such as, for example, the program Saber Vivir on La2 on TVE.

She is accredited as a General Health Psychologist, she is a specialist in clinical and educational psychology and in Psychotherapy, (EFPA European Certificate).

In addition, she is the author of the books: “We Want Happy Children. What they never taught us” and “We want them to grow up happy: from childhood to adolescence" and co-author of the encyclopedia "The Psychology that helps us live" and the book "Stories for eating without hassle".
