Going to the Zoo: An Unforgettable Experience

If you’re looking for a pleasant, fun and unique experience, the zoo is just the answer. Zoos are a place where all you need is a camera and a desire to be close to nature. Without a doubt, you and your little ones will have an unforgettable day. We’re sure of it!

Going to the zoo with your children

If it’s been a while since you’ve been to the zoo, you’re sure to feel like this is the first time. Just like children, we experience a certain level of excitement about going to see all of the animals there.

Going to the zoo is always an exciting experience for children. They never get over seeing a giant gorilla close up, or admiring just how long a giraffe’s neck really is… Or marveling at the enormous elephant.

By spending time in this magical world, children understand that animals really do exist, and they aren’t just characters from cartoons and story books.

If you live in the city, then going to the zoo is a perfect option for getting away from the hustle and bustle. It’s also a great way to get your kids to disconnect from technology for a while. There, you can walk about and explore while enjoying fresh air and great views.

What’s more, you can enjoy your children’s amazement and innocence as they shout out “Look, mom!” around every turn. The experience is priceless.

After a hard week of work and dedication, an outing to the zoo will likely leave you exhausted. But the delight of seeing your children discover nature first-hand will make it all worth it. And not only will this be a learning opportunity, it will be an experience that brings you together and creates new memories to cherish.

5 tips for going to the zoo

Going to the Zoo: An Unforgettable Experience

1. Find out about entrance costs and policies

Thanks to technological advances, many zoos now offer the option of purchasing passes online. Often, buying your zoo passes online includes discounts, special deals, and a wider variety of payment options. And of course, you’ll save time in line at the zoo.

Also find out if your local zoo has a smartphone application. This can open the door to even more savings as well as inside information about events and exhibitions going on, as well as a zoo map and more.

Plus, downloading the application will likely save you from having to print out your zoo passes. Just present them on your screen when you walk in.

If your local zoo doesn’t have these options, then make sure to find out about costs and payment options ahead of time.

2. Get there early

If you arrive early in the morning, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the park even more. During the hot summer months, animals are more active in the early hours of the day. You and your family will have more time to enjoy all of the attractions the zoo has to offer.

3. Be prepared

Remember that seeing the entire zoo will take some time and a lot of walking. Also, this time of year, the sun is much stronger. So, first of all, be sure everybody has sunscreen on, and reapply as necessary.

Also, bring plenty of water and snacks, and wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Of course, you also want to make sure you have plenty of battery and memory space available on your camera or phone. You’ll want to take plenty of pictures throughout the day.

4. Food

If you and your family enjoy picnic-style meals, then you can pack a lunch ahead of time. Just make sure that your local zoo allows you to bring in your own food. If not, then make sure to bring along extra funds for purchasing lunch within the park.

5. Take it all in

Since you’ll be doing plenty of walking, we recommend taking advantage of every opportunity to sit down and enjoy whatever events and shows are on the agenda.

Not only are they entertaining and educational, but they also give you a chance to sit down and recharge. Also, be sure to check out the petting zoo, if there is one!

And last but not least, be sure to take some time to visit the gift shop and take home a souvenir or two. That way, every time your children look at them, they’ll remember the special day you all spent together at the zoo.
