I'll Show My Love for You Through Actions, not Words
Actions speak louder than words, the old saying goes. Time goes by, but this is just as true as ever. That’s why I’ll show my love for you through what I do rather than what I say.
Surely it’s my responsibility to teach you lesson after lesson throughout your life so that you become a great person.
At the same time, I want to create the best future possible for the child I love. I want you to be happy. However, as I do that, I want to make sure to love you, and make you feel that love.
So one of the things I want to teach you is my love for you. It’s one thing to say something, it’s another thing to actually do it.
So, rather than count on my words, I want to demonstrate my love for you in tangible ways.
I won’t employ eloquent speeches full of adjectives and nouns. Rather, I’ll allow the verb to come to life as I teach you, guide you and care for you. My actions will be my first line of communication.
In silence I’ll teach you the depth of my love for you. Each action will reveal my dedication. It will be my mission to make sure that not a day goes by that you don’t feel immensely blessed to be someone intensely loved.
I’ll show my love for you through subtle gestures
My dearest child, there are noble actions and gestures that can reveal so much more than you think. They speak for themselves so much louder than any word ever could.
There’s no need to vocalize because these silent actions speak volumes. And what’s more, they nourish the souls of those they reach.
I’ll show you how deep and unconditional my love is every night I spend awake caring for you. From diaper changes, searching in the dark for your fallen pacifier, and preparing midnight bottles to sleepovers and your first nights out in your teenage years…
I’ll be awake, attentive. The sleepless hours of a mother are directly proportionate to the love she has for her child..
Mother: The most beautiful word on the lips of mankind
–Khalil Gibran–
I’ll demonstrate the immensity of my affection in every minute of patience that I put forth, even when my soul is exhausted. In the minutes we spend playing, in the times that you are ill, in the million ways I protect you every day…
Through stories and lullabies… With the bravery and the determination with which I watch over your well-being.
You’ll discover a bottomless fountain of maternal love when you’re in my company – in both good times and bad. There may even be times when you feel you don’t deserve it, but I’ll be there just the same.
You’ll know I love you even when you make mistakes, even when you’re angry, and especially when you’re sad.
I hope that one day, the smell of clean clothing or a home-cooked meal will make you think of me. When life has you down, I hope you know you can come to me.
When you need a hug or words of encouragement, I’ll always be here to give them to you. When you have something to celebrate, I’ll celebrate with you.
I’ll give you all I have
My passion will be giving you my all, without ever expecting anything in return. I promise to be generous, altruistic, and to make any sacrifice necessary to care for your well-being.
My arms will be your shelter when the selfishness and hostility of this world are weighing you down. I know life can be cruel, but I’ll be there as your refuge.
Through a kiss, a moment of eye contact, a hand on your shoulder, a warm embrace… I’ll say so much more than I could if I tried to explain my love in words.
Silent actions will be my language to building you up and making you feel safe and secure. And when you’re grown, mature and independent, you’ll still remember me fondly.
I’ll trust in you so that you trust in yourself. I’ll value you, so that you know your own worth.
When you need someone with whom to share your secrets, you can come to me.
If you ever need a word of wisdom, I’ll be ready to share my wisdom. And I’ll know when all you need is a simple kiss and a healing hug.
My greatest gifts to you will be my time, my attention, and a listening ear.
I’ll dote on you in order to actively show my devotion in a way only mothers can. Even in my silence, you’ll perceive my love for you, loud and clear.
Those displays, those acts of love that are so genuine and natural, that simply flow from my being, will be our language of love.
And then you’ll understand that my heart overflows with joy and happiness every time I see you.
I’ll fight every day for your present and your future. My maternal love for you will give you wings to fly as high as you want to go.
