Last update: 20 April, 2019

2019 seems like the year of Disney movies, since The Walt Disney Company  will be present in movie theaters all year long. Several of the movies in the lineup are remakes of popular Disney classics. Others, however, are sequels or continuations of already sacred sagas.

Whatever the case, we’re sure you’re going to want to head to the theater this year to enjoy, once again, the marvelous movies that Disney creates. So get yourself some popcorn and make yourself comfortable as we tell you about all of the movies that Disney has lined up for 2019.

Disney’s 2019 movie lineup

Dumbo, one of Disney’s most beloved classics of all time, made its return to the big screen in March in the form of a life-action remake. Directed by Tim Burton, we have no doubt that both children and adults alike will enjoy this tender story.

This time around, the movie takes on an issue that has become controversial in recent years: The use of animals in the circus and the treatment they receive in that setting.

Another live-action Disney remake that you’ll find on movie listings this year is Aladdin.  This time, the plot will mix the original 1992 story with other stories from One Thousand and One Nights.

The newest version of Alladin is sure to be a hit with the help of Will Smith. Smith will be voicing one of the favorite and most ingenious characters of the story: The genie.

Aladdin, Jasmin, Jafar, the genie, Iago the parrot and Abu the monkey will all head to the theaters on May 24th. That gives you and your family just enough time to revisit the original before the release of the remake.

The Lion King, the most awaited Disney movie of 2019

As you may have realized, 2019 is the year of the classic Disney remake. In June, we’ll be able to enjoy one of the most awaited films of the year: The Lion King.

Simba, Mufasa and the rest of the animals will delight us once again and even bring back songs from the 1994 original. The movie is sure to spark emotion and nostalgia over and over with the memories it brings to mind. And you and your children enjoy singing along with the Simba, Pumba and Timon in Hakuna Matata.

Frozen 2

At the end of this year, on November 19, the adventures of Else, Anna and Olaf return to the big screen in another one of the most awaited films of the year.

Winner of the Oscar for Best Animated Film and Best Original Song, the movie about the ice queen continues to be one of the most popular Disney movies of all time.

Therefore, we have no doubt that your little ones are anxious to discover what happens in the sequel. This is the first time that a Disney princess sequel has made it to theaters, while others came out directly on VHS and DVD. We’re sure Frozen 2 will live up to the hype.

Other 2019 Disney movies

Captain Marvel

The world of Marvel superheroes came back in its 21st movie, released on March 8. This time, the plot revolves around Coral Danvers, a United States Air Force pilot that becomes Captain Marvel after the earth finds itself in the middle of a conflict between two alien races.
