Therefore, having fun at home makes children grow and develop in a healthy, balanced, and happy way.

“There is a great work/home life balance that you need to achieve. If you let your home life eat into your work life, you lose motivation quickly and if work life imposes too much on your family time, then your family time becomes less satisfactory.”

How to organize home educational workshops

Home educational workshops are good ways to spend quality family time on a cold or rainy day, since you don’t need to leave your home. Therefore, below, we propose four types of workshops that are very inexpensive, enriching, and easy to organize.

Reading workshop

A reading workshop consists of gathering all the family members in a bright and cozy room, each one choosing a story, a book, a comic book, or a magazine to read during a certain time.

After this time, each family member summarizes what they’ve read to the rest. This is an ideal practice to encourage reading habits from childhood.

Creative writing workshop

Creative writing workshops consist of establishing a family space in which all the members can freely develop their imagination. The main goal of this workshop is to create an original story as a family.

To make this more educational, you can choose a specific theme, such as environmental protection, the importance of friendship, and respect for diversity, etc. This way, children learn to work as a team, while they learn certain ethical and social values.

Arts and crafts workshop

Through art and crafts workshops, you can teach your children to express themselves creatively and without limits, practicing their manual skills and motor coordination. It’s useful to propose the creation of artistic works, recycling and reusing materials, such as rolls of paper, cardboard boxes, and plastic cans, among others.

Recycling workshop

A recycling workshop is perfect for instilling environmental values in children, so that they grow up aware of this issue. In this workshop, each family member must be in charge of designing and creating a recycling bin, taking into account the colors of the different types of containers and the materials you have to put inside each of them.

When everyone finishes, they have to show the others their results. In addition, you can do an activity in which both children and parents demonstrate their recycling knowledge, distributing different waste in the bins you made.
