1. Sponge cake
In this case, we’re going to present you with an alternative that contains sugar, but in moderate amounts. It also contains yogurt, an food that has proven to be very beneficial for health because it contains probiotic bacteria inside. These microorganisms selectively colonize the digestive tract and reduce the risk of developing certain diseases.
For the cake, you’ll need the following elements:
- The yolks of 5 eggs
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup water along with 4 scoops of powdered baby formula
- A pinch of salt
- 1 cup of flour
- 1/4 of a yeast packet
For the filling, gather these ingredients:
- 3 yogurts for babies
- 6 tablespoons of strawberry jam
- 1/3 cup orange juice
Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Immediately afterward, put the yolks and the sugar in a blender pitcher. Beat everything very well and once both ingredients are integrated, add the water with the powdered milk and mix again. The next step is to add the flour and beat again.
From here, place the resulting batter in a rectangular baking container lined with parchment paper. Then, cook the cake for about 15 or 20 minutes at 350 degrees, but when it begins to brown on the surface, cover it with aluminum foil and lower the temperature to 325 degrees until finished.
Finally, let the cake cool and cut it into three portions. At the same time, mix the yogurts with the jam in a bowl. Soak the cake lightly in juice and place it on a plate. Pour the filling over the cake and cover it with another portion. Repeat until completing 2 layers of filling. Now you just need to allow it to cool and then serve.
2. Banana cake
Now we’re going to present you with another alternative for preparing your child’s first birthday cake. In this case, bananas take the lead. We’re talking about a food that contains a significant amount of fiber. This substance helps prevent constipation in children, as evidenced by research published in the journal Nature Reviews.
- 2 cups of ripe banana
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 of wheat flour for pastry
- 1/3 cup of olive oil
- 1 sachet of chemical yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- A pinch of salt
First, peel the bananas and mash them with a fork to get a puree. At the same time, beat the egg in a bowl and add the banana together with the oil. Stir everything with a few kitchen rods to achieve a homogeneous texture.
From here, incorporate the flour, yeast, cinnamon, and salt into another bowl. When the ingredients are well integrated, add everything to the previous mixture and stir vigorously again. Then, place this batter in individual oven molds covered with parchment paper.
Now you just need to bake the cakes. To do this, place the preparation in an oven preheated to 350 degrees, with heat on both sides. After 25 minutes, check with a toothpick so that when you pierce the center, the cake is dry.
